On Thursday, August 18, 2016, some students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, staged a peaceful protest in the institution.

The visibly angry students said they were being attacked severally by armed robbers. They then called on the school authorities to provide adequate security for them and find a lasting solution to the issue.

It was learnt that Thursday’s demonstration was sparked by a robbery attack that reportedly took place at Adejoke Hostel on Wednesday night, where mobile phones, laptops and other valuables were carted away by the hoodlums.

Business Post gathered that during the attack, a student was seriously injured on his head and was rushed to the clinic for treatment.

During the protest, students blocked the major road leading to the school and got many people trapped.

They said academic activities in the institution would be halted until something is done to stop the menace.

The aggrieved students said the attacks were becoming too much for them to take.
