Two persons accused of planning gày marriage in Sokoto State over the weekend have reportedly fled for fear of being arrested by authorities or attacked.

Same sèx marriage or relationship is outlawed in Nigeria and anyone caught in the act risks being sentenced for 14 years.

It is even worst in the northern part of Nigeria, where Islam is highly rooted and Sharia law is being practised.

According to the BBC, spokesman of the police in Sokoto State disclosed that the owner of the house where the alleged ceremony took place at the weekend has been arrested, but the main suspects are still at large.
