The registration of all unregistered Tutorial and Continuing Education Centres (CECs) in Lagos State has commenced.

The exercise is being handled by the Lagos State Ministry of Education, through the State Agency for Mass Education.

The Ministry noted that the process was in line with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s commitment to standardize the education sector in the state.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the initiative came up as a result of prior engagements that reviewed activities of CECs, where it was  subsequently agreed that all unregistered entities should be compelled to register by the State government.

While commending the centres that have already registered with the Agency, the statement solicited for the support and cooperation of all those that were yet to be documented.

It noted that the commencement of the exercise was a follow up to previous directive mandating all Centres to register with the Lagos State Agency for Mass Education in accordance with Edict 1990, Section 4 (2, 3).
