Considered as the gold standard in germ protection, Dettol has been committed towards spreading the awareness around hand hygiene amongst children across the globe.

As a part of the Global Hand washing Day celebrations, Dettol has launched a global campaign which aims to reach out to millions of people across 19 countries and educate them about importance of hand washing.

Led by digital, the campaign emphasises on creating a big impact of saving lives by taking small steps like inculcating good hand washing habits.

Global Hand washing Day is an annual global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of hand washing with soap as an easy, effective, and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.

Dettol has educated over 10 million mothers and children about the importance of hand washing through various on ground programs since 2006.

This year, Dettol aims to achieve its biggest ever Healthy Hands chain, which will take place in the Middle East.

After being educated on healthy hand hygiene habits, school kids from countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait will come together, hand-in-hand to celebrate health.

Children from different schools will be connected virtually via a Skype video call, thus forming Dettol’s biggest ever Healthy Hands chain.

Talking about the launch of the campaign in the Middle East, Kristin Veriga, Marketing Director – RB Middle East said, “We believe that it’s important to inculcate healthy behaviour changes at an early age.

“A simple act of hand wash with soap prevents a lot of illness and needless deaths, especially in developing countries.

“Global Hand washing Day gives us the opportunity to create an awareness platform, where consumers can be educated and at the same time, a small step from them helps in making a big difference towards this endeavour.”

He further added, “At Dettol, we pledge to make lives of millions of people healthier and happier by improving their hygiene habits. We sincerely believe that this campaign will help us in making a positive impact on people’s attitude towards their hygiene habits.”
