Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure, has finally apologised to the club and his manager, Pep Guardiola, in a bid to save his career at the club.

The former Ivorian captain has been left out of City’s matches since Mr Guardiola became manager of the former English champions. His last game for the club was on August 24, 2016.

Mr Toure was sold to Man City in 2010 by Mr Guardiola when he was in charge of Barcelona.

Since his arrival at the Etihad, the lanky midfielder has remained one of the key players at the club, helping them win titles, including the Premier League.

After this summer’s transfer window, Mr Toure’s agent, Mr Dimitri Seluk, slammed the City manager for not using the former African Footballer of year in most matches, which forced Mr Guardiola to vow never to use the midfielder until his agent apologises.

But all seems to be well now as Mr Toure has publicly begged the club and the coach.

He posted on his Facebook page last night that, “I wish to apologise, on behalf of myself and those who represent me, to the management team and all those working at the club for the misunderstandings from the past.

“Those statements do not represent my views on the club or the people who work there.

“I have nothing but respect for Manchester City and only wish the best for the football club.

“I am immensely proud to have played a part in the club’s history and want to help City succeed further. I live to play football and entertain the fans.

“On that note, I would like to thank all of the fans for their messages through this difficult period. This means a great deal to me and my family.”

It is still not clear if, with this public apology, the 33-year-old would be considered by Mr Guardiola for Man City’s EPL game against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
