Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Ibrahim Idris, has promised to give more support to improve police security at banks and other financial institutions across the country.

Mr Idris made this known when he received the committee of Heads of Security of Banks and Financial Institutions led by its chairman, Mr Chuks Maha, during a courtesy visit to his office last Wednesday at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The IGP appreciated the committee for the visit and expressed deep gratitude on the cordial and good working relationship existing between the Nigeria Police Force and the committee.

He further implored the committee to continue to cooperate with the personnel of the Force in ensuring security and safety of banks and other financial institutions across the country.

In his remarks, chairman of the committee Mr Chuks Maha, congratulated the police chief on his appointment as the 19th indigenous Inspector General of Police and lauded his efforts and the commitment in reducing crimes in the country since his assumption of duty.

In addition, he used the medium to inform the IGP that the committee will be meeting with him quarterly. He emphasised the need for the committee to sustain the cordial relationship with all the Zonal Assistant Inspector General of Police, Command Commissioners and Divisional Police officers with a view to enhancing their efficiency at securing their banks and other financial institutions that are part of the committee.
