Six hundred women have undergone training under the Womenpreneur Business Workshop organised by Access Bank Plc.

The Womenpreneur Business Workshop is a capacity building platform for female business owners to get more knowledge about business environments.

It is also aimed to give practical capacity building programmes to equip participants with tools to succeed with in their businesses.

At the workshop held in Port Harcourt, wife of the Rivers State Governor, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, noted that when women are empowered, more than half of societal problems would be solved.

She said, “We have learnt a lot that will improve the businesses of our women, I commend Access Bank for giving women the opportunity to learn to be self-reliant and how to improve their lives and businesses.”

She also sponsored some women for the programme under the RivEthics project.

Also speaking at the event, the Group Head, Products and Segments of Access Bank Plc, Mrs Ope Wemi-Jones, explained that the goal of the workshop was to further strengthen the ability of women to contribute to economic development in Nigeria. It was also in line with the tenets of the W initiative, the home for everything Access Bank has to offer women.

She said, “Through the initiative, we inspire, connect and empower women. We are deeply committed to supporting female entrepreneurs irrespective of the stage of their business and this workshop is one of the ways by which we seek to actualize this goal.”
