Obaseki Appoints Chief of Staff, SSG

Newly sworn-in Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has appointed Mr Taiwo Akerele as his Chief of Staff.

Also announced by the Governor is Mr Osarodion Ogie as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

The duo were sworn-in on Monday at a brief ceremony held at the Government House in Benin City, the state capital.

Mr Obaseki charged the two men to see their appointments as call to service, stressing that his administration cannot afford to fail the people, who trusted him with their votes.

Also, the Governor announced Mr John Mayaki as his interim Chief Press Secretary.

In addition, Mr Obaseki directed all Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service to take full charge of the affairs of their ministries, pending appointment of Commissioners.

The Governor, during a meeting on Monday with the state Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries, asked for their cooperation.
