Complaints Trail AIMS Asset Management Ltd

By Modupe Gbadeyanka

Several complaints are currently trailing a fund/portfolio manager in the capital market, AIMS Asset Management Limited.

According to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), these complaints centre around the private placements of Petdrill Development Company Limited and AIMS Assurance Company Limited.

In a statement signed by management of the capital market regulator, it said it “received various complaints against AIMS Asset Management Limited who solicited and marketed private placements for two private companies namely Petdrill Development Company Limited and Aims Assurance Company Limited.”

SEC noted that while investigating the activities of the registered Capital Market Operator, it “observed that the said private placements and the securities of the private companies were not under the regulatory purview of the commission.”

“In view of the above, the general public is hereby INFORMED, that the Commission does not regulate private placements by private companies and therefore, the respective investors are advised to contact the said companies for their share certificates,” the statement said.

  7. I also invested the sum of N300,000.00 with AIMS Asset in 2008, on Aims Individual Retirement Scheme, the tenure was for five years. I have my receipt and photocopies of the form filled and teller of payment. I have since been trying trying to get in touch with Alex John, the salesman.
The maturity of my investment was April 2013.
AIMS Asset is still existing, what can I do to get my money back?

  8. Aims Asset Management Ltd is a big fraud. Except CAC and EFCC can come in, most savers or investors with the company may not recover their investments. The directors of the company are on the run.The company has been run down through fraudulent activities.

  9. If Aims Assets Mgt Ltd is a registered company, automatically it is a legal entity which can be sued. I think the Corporate Affairs Commission should help those of us whose savings are with the company. CAC should tell us the names of the directors of the company, those who registered the company and their contact addresses. Our government should not allow citizens to be ripped off just like that. It is a kind of yahoo-yahoo which the EFCC should pursue with vigour to serve as fetterent to others who derive pleasure in in using 419 companies to steal people hard-earned money. Enough is enough. Aims Asset Management Ltd is a fraud! A cheat and a crook upon whom a curse of the people they stole from will work. When their so called directors and sponsirsvofvthe company begin to suffer debilities, they and their families they will not know that the law of karma is at work. Whatever a man sows he shall reap. They’ve sowed wind they will reap whirlwind in return.

I invested with this aims asset management limited in the year 2009 and I was given a receipt, statement of account for a period of 2 to 3 years it came to a point that my account holder named by Olotu Etwatimi was no where to be found which made me to go to the branch in Warri when I got there they told me that the company was no longer in Warri which made me to search for the number of my account holder who was not found but luckily I called one of the number he gave to me and luckily the number belonged to his wife whom I collected his number from then he told me that the company has relocated to Lagos state and that he is no longer a staff based on all this I found it very difficult to get my account detail of my invest with the company and now I’m confused about the company because they have not sent me any detail or message on my investment which is over 500 thousand naira and the period of maturity is 2019 for a period of 10 years since 2009 so I’m using this opportunity to update me about my account details which will enable me to collect my dues as from 2019 and I’m also seeking the collaboration of those of us who are in the same position with me to take this matter legally or otherwise my phone number is 07052034073.Thank you very much
