Community Development Service Group (CDS) on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Ibadan office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to register their continuous support and partnership with the Commission in the war against graft and corruption.

The Ibadan Zonal Head, Mr Akaninyene Ezima, who received the corps members on behalf of the Acting Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Magu, expressed delight at their involvement and commitment to the fight against corruption.

He said “it is indeed gratifying to see youths like you getting involved in the quest to rescue our nation from its albatross; graft and corrupt practices. I therefore enjoin you to continue to join hand with us to drive the EFCC vision.”

As youths you are expected to keep the integrity flag flying by being ambassadors of social change, making deliberate efforts to preach the Gospel of simple life and discourage ostentatious living without hard work among the youths, he stated.

Mr Ezima while fielding questions from the corps members decried that corruption has eaten deep into our system citing the infamous “ghost corpers” as an example. He promised continuous support and regular interface with the NYSC CDS group.

The Zonal Head further encouraged them not to allow the laudable drive to die after their service year and reemphasized that the commission will always be ready to partner with them.

In her response, President of the CDS group, Kumolu Anuoluwapo who led the members to the EFCC office thanked the Zonal Head for the reception and reiterated that the main objective of the group is to go out and sensitize people, youths, market women and other stakeholders about the ills of corruption at different levels and the need to stamp it out of our social lives.
