Olusola Hassan Retires as Diamond Bank Director

One of the Directors of a leading financial institution in Nigeria, Diamond Bank Plc, has retired from the board of directors of the company.

It was gathered that the director that retired from the bank is Dr Olubola Adekunle Hassan.

In a letter dated January 24, 2017 titled ‘notification of retirement of Dr Olubola Adekunle Hassan as a Director of Diamond Bank Plc’, the firm said the retirement took effect from Wednesday, December 21, 2016.

Diamond Bank, in the letter signed by its legal adviser, Ms Nkechi Nwosu, disclosed that, “We write to inform you of the retirement of from the Board of Diamond Bank Plc effective December 21, 2016.”

Dr Hassan serves as the Chief Medical Director of the Eye Foundation Hospital Group in Lagos. He has over 20 years of experience in corporate administrative and financial management roles in the areas of healthcare finance and microfinance.

Also, he serves as the Executive Chairman of Lihaone Economic Development Foundation (Microfinance) and Health Partners as well as the Chairman of Summit Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Lagos.

He had been a non-Executive Director of Diamond Bank Plc since 2005 and also served as a Director of DBSL Securities Ltd.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow and a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, United Kingdom.

Dr Hassan holds a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery from the University of Lagos and a Diploma of Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ireland.
