Goods worth millions of Naira were on Tuesday night destroyed by an inferno that razed a popular market in Jimeta, Yola in Adamawa State.
It was gathered that the unfortunate started after the market had closed for the day.
During the fire, several stalls were reportedly burnt.
But it took the prompt response of the state fire service to put out the inferno, which could have resulted into more damage.
Also, security officials quickly moved to the scene of the incident to prevent hoodlums taking advantage of the fire to loot the market.
Jimeta Market is one of the biggest markets in Yola.
