Buhari Thanks Nigerians, Says "No Cause for Worry"

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his gratitude to Nigerians for their steadfast prayers for him.

Mr Buhari, who most of his countrymen have not heard from since he travelled to the United Kingdom on January 19, 2017, on vacation, urged the citizens not to worry because he is fine.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by one of his media aides, Mr Femi Adesina, the President specially thanked Nigerians who have been sending good wishes and praying for his health and well-being in mosques and churches throughout the country.

Mr Adesina explained that during the President’s “normal annual check-up, tests showed he needed a longer period of rest, necessitating (him) staying longer than originally planned.”

Mr Buhari was said to have been overwhelmed by the show of love and concern by Nigerians, but reassured them “that there is no cause for worry.”
