Veteran Nigerian Actor Olumide Bakare Dies

A top actor in the Nigerian film industry, Olumide Bakare, has been reported dead. He was said to have passed on in the early hours of Saturday, April 22, 2017.

Mr Bakare has had a long battle with heart and lung diseases and has been in and out of the hospital in a number of times.

The veteran thespian, who was aged 65, has acted in several Yoruba and English speaking flicks. He got his break in the now rested TV series, Koko Close, where he acted the role of Chief Koko.

According to what we gathered, the actor breathed his last on his way to the hospital this morning.

Sometimes ago, Mr Bakare had a cardiac arrest and was taken to the emergency unit of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State.

He was said to have recently had a successful surgery and was recovery very fast until this morning when he went into relapse and died afterwards.
