DSS Frees Ifeanyi Ubah of Capital Oil

By Dipo Olowookere

Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas Limited, Mr Ifeanyi Ubah, has finally been released by the Department of State Security (DSS).

Mr Ubah was arrested in May 2017 over the missing petroleum worth N11 billion kept in his tank farm by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The businessman, who also owns Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club, was accused by the secret police of inciting members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union to stop lifting petroleum products, with the intention to cause panic and scarcity of the commodity in the country.

Though a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, had order the DSS to release the Capital Oil boss, it declined.
