In order to give investors in Lagos State the opportunity to compete favourably with their contemporaries in developed countries, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has promised that his administration will continue to come up with business-friendly policies.

Mr Ambode made this pledge recently at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Awards.

He promised that the state government will continue to initiate policies and strategies that will enhance business opportunities and enable local products to achieve parity in the international market.

Represented at the ceremony by the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Prince Rotimi Ogunleye, the Governor noted that government was making progress in creating an enabling environment through policies, initiatives, institutional re-energizing as well as infrastructural renewal and development.

“I assure you once again that the business environment will continue to improve as the positive impact of some of our policies and strategies in the areas of transportation, power, road infrastructure, waste management and other sectors become manifest” the Governor reiterated.

He congratulated all the award recipients for the successes achieved in their various sectors, in spite of the challenges in the business environment, saying that the achievement was a testament to their resourcefulness and creativity.

The Governor used the occasion to call on the Organized Private Sector to continue to partner with the State government, stressing that his administration remains committed to finding solutions to the challenges confronting the business sector.

“We shall not rest on our oars as we know that we have so much ground to cover,” he promised.
