Lagosians Urged to Collect Permanent Resident Cards

Residents of Lagos State have been urged to pick up permanent resident cards at their centres of registration.

General Manager of the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA), Mr Kayode Ogunnubi, made this call while on an inspection tour of Ojodu-Berger Local and Ifako- Ijaye Local Governments, as well as Ojokoro and Agbado-Oke Odo Local Council Development Areas recently.

Mr Ogunnubi stressed the need for those that have registered to collect their permanent resident cards, adding that names of owners of unclaimed permanent cards have been displayed on the Agency’s website for residents to check.

He enjoined unregistered residents to comply in order to enable government to compile demographic data for efficient planning and proper allocation of resources in the State.

He reiterated that the major function of the agency is to create a reliable database of all residents in Lagos State, to establish the relevant infrastructure for the creation of a Residents’ Information database for the State, to produce guidelines for data to be contained in the registration forms and to advise Government on mode of collecting data from the public.

The General Manager emphasised that registration is still ongoing at all Local Government Councils, Local Council Development Areas and LASRRA Head office at No 4, Registration Close, off Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja.

While noting that the inspection tour is necessary at this time that the state government is repositioning, restructuring and upgrading the Agency, Mr Ogunnubi informed that all the registration stations in the 57 Local Government Councils and Local Council Development Areas will be visited to know their needs and address them for a more efficient and fast registration process.
