Daniel Diongoli, otherwise known as Idyl, has emerged winner of the season two of the popular music talent hunt show The Voice Nigeria.

Idyl was a member of Team Timi Dakolo at the competition.

He takes over from A’rese Emokpae, who won the contest last year from Team Waje.

The final live show of The Voice Nigeria, which held on Sunday night, had seven other contestants jostling for the grand prize.

The other seven contestants that made it to the finals were Symeca, Jade X, Jahtell, Wow, Ebube, Chris Real and Yemeca.

However, out of the eight finalists, only two, Ebube and Idyl, were voted into the final two, with Idyl emerging the overall winner.

The Voice Nigeria Season 2, sponsored by Airtel, was anchored by IK Osakioduwa and Stephanie Coker and had Patoranking, Timi Dakolo, Waje and Yemi Alade as coaches.
