CBN Unveils List of Authorised Microfinance Banks in Nigeria

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), as part of efforts to ensure sanity in the financial industry in the country, has released list of microfinance banks authorised to operate in Nigeria.

In the list released on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, and obtained by Business Post, the apex revealed that only 1003 microfinance banks are given the authority to operate in the country as at September 22, 2017.

The operators are spread across the Africa’s largest economy.
