Bukar Now Chairs Senate Committee on Capital Market

Senator representing Katsina North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Mr Bukar Mustapha, has been announced as the new Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market.

The lawmaker was named the new head of the committee on Tuesday by the Senate President, Mr Bukola Saraki.

At the resumption of plenary yesterday from an annual recession, the Senate leadership announced heads of committees.

The position was earlier held by the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

According to his profile checked by Business Post on the website of the National Assembly, Mr Mustapha is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The 62-year-old lawmaker is an Engineering graduate of the Amadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State.

He was the Project Manager of the Kaduna State Water Board in 1987, and later became the General Manager of the same board in 1991.

In 2008, he rose to become a Director at the Kaduna State Water Board.

At the moment, he is the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Power.
