Organisers of ‘Innovention’ Series, a platform established to examine the question of Africa’s development, hone in on opportunities for growth while focusing on leveraging inherent strengths, have announced speakers for the event.

The programme, in its 7th edition, is scheduled to take place at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island on Thursday, March 22, 2018.

It is organized by Verdant Zeal Marketing Communications Group and this year’s theme is ‘Building Africa’s Fortune through “Mediatainment.’

Already billed to speak at the programme are Bolanle Austen-Peters, founder of Terra Kulture, who CNN describes as the woman powering the Nigerian theatre; Ibim Semenitari, the first Nigerian Female Journalist to win the CNN African Journalist of the Year Award; Dr Ibilola Amao, Principal Consultant at Lonadek; Ade Adefeko, Vice President Corporate & Government Relations, OLAM Nigeria; Yahaya Maikori, Founding Partner, Law Allianz and others.

The Innovention Series attracts patrons from both the public and private sectors and has become a strong voice in stimulating pragmatic conversations that challenges the status quo.

Speaking on the forthcoming edition, Convener of Innovention Series and Executive Vice Chairman of Verdant Zeal Group, Dr Tunji Olugbodi, noted that the narrative about Africa has been changing because of the evolution experienced in the creative industry, which is engendered by technology.

According to him, “It is imperative to have a great understanding of how to create content and distribute it to consumers across the globe. This edition of the series will chart a course towards harnessing the power of African content to create new narratives and revenue streams.”
