BREAKING: Alan Pardew Quits West Brom

By Dipo Olowookere

Head Coach of West Bromwich Albion, Mr Alan Pardew, has left the English club battling with relegation.

The former Crystal Palace manager parted ways with West Brom on Monday morning. The club is presently at the bottom of the EPL table.

On Saturday, the Baggies lost their home match against Burnley by two goals to one, leaving the club 10 points from safety with six games remaining.

It was the eighth successive league defeats for Mr Pardew, who was appointed by Albion on November 29, 2017 after the club sacked its former handler, Mr Tony Pulis, who had 10 successive games without a win.

Confirming the exit of Mr Pardew on Monday morning, the club said in a statement that both parties “have agreed to mutually part company following discussions between both parties.”

“Assistant head coach John Carver will also be leaving,” it added.

“The club would like to thank Alan and John for their efforts and wish them well in their future endeavours,” the statement said.

Already, the Baggies have asked the first-team coach, Mr Darren Moore, to take charge of first-team affairs until further notice.

Before now, 56-year-old Pardew had expressed confidence that he would remain with the club and not abandon his duties at the club.

He had expressed optimism that he would keep the club in the Premier League next season despite Albion’s dwindling fortunes.
