African Petroleum Producers’ Organization Elects Kachikwu as President

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr Ibe Kachikwu, has been elected as President of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO).

Mr Kachikwu emerged leader of APPO on Monday morning at an event organised by the association in Abuja.

The opening ceremony of the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Ministers of APPO was declared open by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.

With his emergence today, the out-going President of the group, Mr Michel Boukar, has now officially handed over mantle of leadership of APPO to Mr Kachikwu.

In his inaugural speech, the Minister promised to take APPO to the next level, while thanking the former leader for a job well done.
