Dangote Takes Over Katsina Songhai Initiative to Boost Revenue

The Katsina Songhai initiative located in Makera, Dutsinma Council Area of Kastina State has now been taken over by Dangote Group.

This followed a memorandum of understanding signed between the state government and Dangote Group on Thursday.

Business Post gathered that the deal, with a 10-year lifespan, involves Dangote paying a lease agreement fee worth N500 million on a 10,000 hectares of land to be used for tomato production.

Governor of Kastina State, Mr Aminu Bello Masari, said the MoU was part of his administration’s economic advancement drive to make the state an investment hub in the northern region of the country.

According to him, the deal with Dangote will add value to the lives of people of the state, urging other investors to come to Kastina State, assuring them of friendlier environment.

Also speaking at the signing ceremony yesterday, President of Dangote Group, Mr Aliko Dangote, requested for additional land for future expansion, adding that, the group was determined to ensure a good working relationship with the state government to improve the lives of people.

He revealed that N500 million would be expended for the lease of the Katsina Songhai initiative project and pledged the group’s readiness to make the state the beehive of tomato businesses.
