SEC Begins Training for Capital Market Operators Wednesday

A training put together by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for Capital Market Operators and Compliance Officers will commence on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the apex industry regulator, the programme will scheduled for September 12 and 13, 2018 at the SEC Lagos Zonal Office, 3, Idejo Street, Victoria Island, Lagos by 9am daily, with a course fee of N50,000.

SEC explained that the training would cover topics such as Overview of the Financial System, Responsibilities and Conduct of Capital Market Operators, Overview of the Legal Framework of the Nigerian Capital Market, Securities Offering, Trading and Fund Management; and Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing Of Terrorism Activities in the Nigerian Capital Market.

It is targeted at Compliance Officers and other staff of Issuing Houses, Broker/Dealers, Fund managers, Investment Advisers, Solicitors etc.

“Interested participants are required to pay via Remita (select workshop/training fees in the ‘service name’ field) and send evidence of payment via email to [email protected] on or before September 10, 2018.

“The email should be titled: SEC SEPTEMBER 2018 TRAINING PROGRAMME,” the statement from SEC said.
