Unity Bank Fixes 12th AGM for December 17 in Akwa Ibom

The board of Unity Bank Plc has announced Monday, December 17, 2018 as date for its 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The event is scheduled to take place at 11am at the Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort, Nwaniba Road, Akwa Ibom State.

According to a statement issued by the lender, during the meeting, shareholders will receive the audited accounts for the year ended December 31, 2017 together with the reports of the Directors, Auditors and Audit Committee.

Also on the agenda at the AGM is the election and re-election of some directors of the financial institution as well as fixing of their remuneration and those of the company’s auditors.

Shareholders will on that also elect members to the audit committee.

Unity Bank said shareholders who may not be able to personally attend the gathering may “appoint a proxy to attend and vote in his stead. A proxy need not also be a member. A proxy form is attached at the end of the financial statements.”

It said further that, “All instruments of proxy must be duly stamped at the Stamp Duties Office and deposited at the registered office of the company or the office of the Registrar, 25 Ogunlana Drive, Surulere, Lagos, not later than 48 hours before the date of the meeting.”

Business Post reports that Unity Bank traded flat on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, closing at 85 kobo per share.
