The 2019 Appropriation Bill has been approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The 2019 budget was approved for presentation on Thursday at a special FEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.

The executive arm of government is proposing to spend the sum of N8.6 trillion for the 2019 fiscal year.
Minister for Budget and National planning, Mr Udoma Udoma, who briefed State House correspondents at the end of the FEC meeting today, said a date for the presentation of the budget was yet to be fixed.

Mr Udoma said the executive will liaise with the parliament to agree on a date for such exercise.

Business Post reports that on November 7, 2017, President Buhari presented the 2018 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly.

The appropriation bill was later passed by the parliament in May 2018 and signed into law by the President in June 2018.
