Bismarck Rewane Retires from FCMB Board

Renowned economist, Mr Bismarck Rewane, has retired from the board of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Plc.

The Nigerian financial institution announced the retirement of Mr Rewane in a statement to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday.

In the statement signed by the Company Secretary, Mrs Olufunmilayo Adedibu, it was disclosed that the board has accepted his retirement.

The board and management also expressed their gratitude to the foremost financial expert, wishing him well in his retirement.

“FCMB Group Plc hereby announces the retirement of Mr Bismarck Rewane from the board of directors of the company.

“This follows the acceptance of his retirement by the board at the board of directors’ meeting held on Friday, March 8, 2019.

“The board and management of FCMB Group Plc appreciate his valuable contributions and for always being available whenever called upon,” Mrs Adedibu said.

Mr Rewane, who is the MD/CEO of Financial Derivatives Company, graduated from the University of Ibadan in 1972 with a degree in Economics. He is also an Associate of The Institute of Bankers, England and Wales.

Apart from FCMB, he also serves on the board of Top Feeds Nigeria Ltd, Delta Packaging Nigeria Ltd, Seepec Nigeria Ltd, Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Modant Marine Ltd, Virgin Nigeria Airways Ltd, Nigeria LNG Foundation, UBA Custodian Ltd, UNIC Insurance Plc, Navgas (a Vitol subsidiary), and Guinness Nigeria Plc.
