President of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Mr Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, has refuted rumours making the rounds that his ailing colleague, Mr Babatunde Omidina, otherwise known as Baba Suwe, is dead.

In a video made to debunk the unconfirmed reports, Mr Latin said the comic actor was presently in the United States of America (USA) receiving medical attention.

Baba Suwe, who had an ordeal with the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) some years ago, was flown abroad for treatment.

He has been battling with sickness since he was arrested by the NDLEA officials on his way then to Paris, France.

Few months ago, a passionate appeal for funds was made for his treatment outside the shores of the country.

In his video, Mr Latin urged Nigerians not to spread false alarm about the actor. He however, asked the public to pray for the safe return of Baba Suwe, who he said still has a lot to offer to the movie industry.
