Ali Joins AXA Mansard Insurance Board as Silvent Leaves

The board of AXA Mansard Insurance Plc has announced the resignation of one of its members, Mrs

Karima Silvent.

Mrs Silvent served on the board of the company as a non-executive director from January 1, 2015 till May 8, 2019, when her resignation became effective.

The reason for her exit was not stated by the company, but the board, which “unanimously approved” the resignation, commended “Mrs Karima Silvent for her leadership and overall contribution to the growth of the company during her tenure on the board.”

Meanwhile, AXA Mansard Insurance has informed the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) of the appointment of Mr Sohail Ali as an Executive Director of the company.

According to a statement signed by the Company Secretary, Mrs Omowunmi Mabel Adewusi, the appointment has “been approved by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).”

He has been appointed as Executive Director overseeing the Actuary Division.

Mr Ali is a UK qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries with over 15 years’ experience in consultancy, sales and operations in the Life, Pensions and Investment sectors.

He joined AXA Egypt in 2008 and was responsible at different stages for managing the P&L of the Life & Savings business, actuarial, compliance, internal audit, legal, risk management, underwriting and claims functions.

“The board and management of AXA Mansard Insurance Plc are confident that, with his wealth of experience, Sohail will add great value to the Board,” the statement said.
