On Monday, June 17, 2019, Fidelity Bank Plc hosted multiple award-winning American gospel artistes, JJ Hairston and Phil Thompson at its headquarters in Lagos.

The duo flew into Nigeria to perform at the Fearless Rebirth Concert held over the weekend in Lagos and sponsored by the financial institution.

The Fearless Rebirth Concert was organised by multiple award-winning Nigerian gospel act, Tim Godfrey and was attended by several personalities.

After the music show, Tim Godfrey led his American colleagues to Fidelity Bank to show appreciation for sponsorship of the programme.

They were welcomed by the MD/CEO of Fidelity Bank, Mr Nnamdi Okonkwo, who said the bank will continue to support the creative industry.

Business Post recalls that last month, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) unveiled a financing initiative of N500 million to the creative sector.

The credit facility is provided by the central bank in collaboration with the Bankers’ Committee as part of efforts to boost job creation in Nigeria, particularly among the youth.

The Creative Industry Financing Initiative (CIFI) has four pillars; Music, Movie, Fashion and Information Technology, with interested applicants advised to submit applications to their banks for approval and disbursement.
