President Buhari Greets 'Courageous' Senator Adeola at 50

The Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Mr Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called Yayi, has been praised by President Muhammadu Buhari for being courageous.

The President, in a message to greet the lawmaker for attaining the golden age of 50, said the respected accountant-turned politician stood by his people and his political party during the time of adversity at the last Senate headed by its President, Mr Bukola Saraki.

In a statement signed on Saturday, August 10, 2019 by Mr Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance was urged to continue to stand on principle.

Mr Buhari further said Senator popularly remains “a politician with conviction,” and should remain a role model to teeming Nigerian youths.

“Saluting the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance on his landmark birthday, the President says he was one of the senators who had the courage of conviction, and stood by his people and his political party, particularly in the last Senate, when perfidy ruled the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly.

“President Buhari wishes Senator Adeola many more years of service to his constituency, state, and the country, urging him to continue to stand on principle, and what would pedestal him a role model to teeming Nigerian youths,” the statement by Mr Adesina said.

Business Post gathered that the lawmaker, who is loved by his constituents, is presently on vacation in the United States with his wife, Temitope.

Mr Adeola is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who has his base in Alimosho area of Lagos State.
