The appointment of Reverend Tor Ujah as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has been terminated.

A statement issued on Tuesday by Mr Willie Bassey, the Director of Information on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, said Rev Ujah’s appointment was terminated with the authorization of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate termination of appointment of Rev Tor Ujah, as the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission,” Mr Bassey said in the statement.

It was stressed that the termination of the appointment was in “line with the provision of Section 4, Sub-Section 3 of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission Act.”

As a result, “Rev Ujah has, therefore, been directed to hand over to Mrs Esther Kwaghe, Director of Administration in the Commission, who is to oversee the Office, pending the appointment of a Substantive Executive Secretary.”

In a related development, President Buhari has directed the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) to work out an appropriate framework for the operation of offshore account maintained by NCPC and all other Nigerian government agencies in order to streamline their operations.”
