The management of bike-hailing firm, Gokada, has announced shutting down its operations in Lagos temporarily in order to restrategise for better services.

A notice issued by the company on Wednesday said its users would be able to enjoy better services from August 26, 2019, when it resumes operations.

“Our service will be temporarily unavailable from today till the 26th of August. We will be back soon but bigger and better this time. We thank you all for understanding,” the notice stated.

Gokada further stated that during the shut down, its mobile application would not be able to function as it is also affected.

“The app has been temporarily shut down and drivers will be unavailable to take rides from today till the 26th of August but we promise that Gokada 2.0 will be exceptional. Please bear with us,” the company disclosed.

It further said, “The drivers will be reoriented during this short break to ensure they engage customers professionally.”

Gokada, which hopes to change the face of transportation in the aquatic city, asked “that you are patient with us and we regret the inconvenience this will bring.”

“We want to take this time out to appreciate all our loyal customers over time. We love you guys and we hope you continue the journey with us during this break and upon reopening. The future is still GREEN,” it said.
