Policemen, Others Die as Robbers Attack First Bank in Ondo

A robbery incident reportedly occurred at one of the branches of First Bank Nigeria Limited in Ondo State some hours ago.

Business Post gathered that the unfortunate incident led to the death of about four persons, including two policemen and civilians who were around the area.

According to reports, the armed robbers attacked the financial institution located in Ile Oluji town, the headquarters of Ile Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, with dynamites.

It was not certain if the hoodlums carted away with some depositors’ money, but according to pictures obtained by this newspaper, the doors of the bank was shattered by the explosives.

In one of the reports, it was stated that the armed robbers gunned down the two policemen in a bid to operate freely, with one shot in the head and the other inside a police vehicle shot in the stomach.

Thereafter, they reportedly shot sporadically into the air to scare away bank customers and passers-by before carrying out their operations on the bank premises.

The incident has raised tension in the community, while some local hunters are said to be on the trail of the dare-devil criminals.
