NASD OTC Exchange Trades Flat Amid Low Trading Activity

The major performance indicators of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange further remained unchanged on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.

At the close of transactions today, the market capitalisation retain its previous level of N503.55 billion, whilethe NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) stayed at 700.39 points.

However, the market was marred with low trading activity as a total of 61,773 units of stocks were exchanged by investors, lower than the 6.03 million units of securities transacted on Monday by 99 percent or 5.9 million units.

In the same vein, the total value of shares transacted at the session reduced by 89 percent or N60.7 million as N7.5 million worth of shares were traded in contrast to N68.2 million realised at the week’s opening session.

Also, the total number of deals executed during the trading day depreciated by 66.67 percent or six deals. A total of three deals were achieved on Tuesday against nine deals of Monday.

The day wrapped up with no price gainer or price loser.

ARM Life Plc remained as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) at the market at the close of transactions today as the company has traded 29 million units of its shares worth N18.3 million so far this year. Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS) Plc, which remained in the second post, has transacted 10.4 million units of its stocks worth N117.8 million, while Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP), which has exchanged 4.3 million units of its shares valued at N1.4 billion at the bourse, occupied the third spot.

In terms of the most traded stock by value (year-to-date), NDEP occupied the top position with 4.3 million units of its stocks sold for N1.4 billion. CSCS Plc took the second place with 10.4 million units of its stocks transacted for N117.8 million, while FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc held the third spot with 924,159 units worth N115.8 million.
