Nigerians have been warned by the Enugu Youth Coalition group on the recent photographs in circulation of women returning from their annual ‘August Meeting’ being purported as a protest against the Fulanis and herdsmen in Enugu State.

This was according to a press statement released by the group, signed by its National Coordinator, Dr. Edwin Obune, who stated that there was no form of protest against anybody or group by the women or youths in the state.

The group urged Nigerians to see the content as the creation of mischief makers, describing it as another lie manufactured from the pit of hell.

According to the statement, “What Nigerians saw online was a false narrative against our women which was the handiwork of some wretched bloggers assembled by greedy and ungrateful politicians from the state who have launched full-scale media war against the good people of the state.”

Regarded the circulation, the group said this was part of a clandestine conspiracy which seeks to discredit the people’s government in Enugu State and make the existing leadership in the state unpopular ahead of expectations.

“In the coming days and months, more dirty and inciting false narratives would be sponsored by ‘strange children’ in our midst against the state, but we promise never to let our people down,” it warned.

This would not be the first attempt, as the group noted that several means have been tried in order to incite the people, the church, the traders association, and even the Federal Government against the state government, but all had been to no avail.

“In the past few months, they have tried, but to no avail to incite the people, the church, the market men and women and the Federal Government against the state government and our people but because the state is in the hands of God, their plans has always been down hill.

The group also called out these statesmen against on their dangerous ways: “While statesmen are thinking of the next generation, greedy and ungrateful politicians from the state are busy thinking of the next elections and contest against their imaginary political opponents.”

The group further said that it wouldn’t desist in its civic responsibilities in defending the interest of the people of Enugu state, and warned that if such continues, it would be compelled to name those who are complicit in sponsoring the malicious information against the people of Enugu State.
