Liberian Ministry of Transport with assistance of the European Union and the GIZ will be holding a city activity dubbed ‘Safe Streets Festival’ on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in Central Monrovia.

The event is inspired by the European Mobility Week and takes place under the motto ‘Road Safety Strengthens Economy.’

Annually, Liberia loses 3-5 percent of its GDP due to insufficient road safety and related traffic deaths and injuries.

The one-day event is aimed at promoting mobility and road safety in the transport sector of Liberia. The fun-packed programme will include a 5km run and family walk, a market space of Liberian goods, sports and cultural activities on Broad Street and will conclude with a live concert in the evening.

The general public is highly encouraged to participate in the 5km run or Family Walk. All those interested are asked to please contact Hillsac Runners for Registration via 0888-531-377 / 0775-580-032or https://www.facebook.com/HILLSAC/ or Hillsac office at Robert Street, Monrovia.

Details on the program will subsequently follow a month before the event and will also be published on the EU Delegation website (https://eeas.europa.eu/delegations/liberia ) as well as its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/EUinLiberia).
