The 2019 Appropriation Bill valued at N8.91 trillion recently passed by the National Assembly has been signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The budget was assented to by the President on Monday morning at the State House in Abuja, the seat of power in Nigeria.
Confirming this today, one of Mr Buhari’s aides on social media, Mr Bashir Ahmad, said, “President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the 2019 Budget into law.”
Business Post reports that the document highlighting how the federal government intends to spend in this fiscal year has N4.65 trillion earmarked for recurrent expenditure, N2.94 trillion for capital expenditure, N2.25 trillion kept for debt servicing, and N502.58 billion set aside for statutory transfer.
Recall that on December 18, 2018, President Buhari presented the budget to a joint session of the parliament.
