CitiTrust Holdings Plc was the hero at the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Thursday, July 7.
The stock price of the financial services company went up by 50 Kobo to sell at N8.00 per unit compared with the preceding session’s N7.50 per unit and this lifted the NASD OTC by 0.02 per cent.
As a result, the market capitalisation gained N200 million to close the day at N1.016 trillion as the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went up by 0.16 points to wrap the session at 772.07 points compared with 771.91 points of the previous session.
Business Post reports that there were two price losers during the session and they were FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc.
The price of FrieslandCampina Plc went down by 10 Kobo yesterday to sell at N100.00 per share versus the N100.10 per share it was sold on Wednesday as CSCS Plc depreciated by 2 Kobo to finish at N14.25 per share in contrast to Wednesday’s value of N14.27 per share.
The day’s trading activity revealed that there was a decrease in the volume of securities traded at the bourse by 75.8 per cent to 8.3 million units from 34.3 million units, the value of stocks moderated by 69.5 per cent to N138.8 million from N445.1 million, while the number of deals decreased by 9.1 per cent to 30 deals from 33 deals.
At the close of transactions, AG Mortgage Bank Plc remained the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 2.3 billion units valued at N1.2 billion, CSCS Plc stood in second place with 675.4 million units worth N14.1 billion, while Food Concepts Plc was in third place with 146.5 million units valued at N127.1 million.
On the flip side, CSCS Plc was the most active stock by value (year-to-date) with 674.9 million units exchanged for N14.1 billion, VFD Group Plc was in second place with 11.1 million units worth N3.3 billion, while FrieslandCampina Plc occupied the third spot with the sale of 11.9 million units valued at N1.5 billion.
