The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange closed in the negative territory by 0.49 per cent on Thursday, July 6, after the share prices of the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc depreciated.

The NASD market capitalisation went down by N5.21 billion at the close of transactions to N1,054 trillion from the N1.060 trillion achieved a day earlier, and the unlisted securities index (NSI) depreciated by 3.76 points to end the day at 762.54 points as against 766.30 points it recorded at the previous session.

CSCS Plc fell by N1.10 during the session to end at N17.00 per share compared to the N18.10 per share of the previous trading session, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc slumped by 11 Kobo to close at N74.89 per unit against N75.00 per unit of the previous day.

However, the share price of UBN Property Plc closed higher yesterday by 16 Kobo to settle at N1.09 per unit versus the previous session’s 93 Kobo per unit.

There was a 22.1 per cent slump in the volume of securities traded on Thursday to 320,858 units from the 411,974 units printed a day earlier, there was a southward movement in the value of shares traded at the bourse by 53.9 per cent to N9.2 million from N19.9 million.

These transactions were carried out in 32 deals compared with the previous trading day’s 21 deals, indicating an increase of 52.4 per cent.

CSCS Plc closed the day as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) basis with 2.2 billion units worth N42.3 billion, Geo-Fluids stood in second place with 848.0 units valued at N1.4 billion, while Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc was in third place with 630.5 million units valued at N49.7 million.

CSCS Plc also closed the session as the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 2.2 billion units valued at N42.3 billion, VFD Plc followed with 19.4 million units worth N4.4 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc was in third place with 19.2 million units valued at N1.4 billion.
