The Lagos State Police Command has declared Mr Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy, wanted over his refusal to honour an invitation to him to aid the ongoing investigation on the death of one of his childhood friends, Mr Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Mohbad, an Afrobeats singer, died on September 12, 2023, under a controversial circumstance, prompting a thorough probe into the matter.

On Tuesday, the police in Lagos confirmed that the owner of the record label, Marlian Music, that once signed the deceased, Mr Azeez Fashola, otherwise known as Naira Marley, was assisting in the investigation.

This was after an associate of Naira Marley, Sam Larry, was picked up over the issue. The Lagos socialite was accused of victimising the late musician after he left this friend’s entertainment outfit in 2022.

According to reports, Primeboy, an up-and-coming artist, was one of the last persons with Mohbad before his demise. He was said to have announced the death of his close friend after he was earlier taken to the hospital for treatment.

A few days after the incident, he made a video claiming he could not have killed Mohbad as alleged, describing the deceased as one of his benefactors.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the spokesman for the Lagos Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Mr Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that Primeboy has not turned himself in for questioning.

As a result, he has now been declared wanted, with N1 million bounty placed on him by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Idowu Owohunwa.

“Following his failure to honour the police invitation successfully sent to him since the commencement of investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of Mr Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command hereby declares wanted Owodunni Ibrahim aka Primeboy.

“Ibrahim is approximately 1.64m tall, male, dark-complexioned with tribal marks and Yoruba by tribe. His last known address is 3rd Power, Oke Eletu, Ikorodu.

“If seen, contact the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727. The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, hereby offers a handsome reward of N1,000,000 (One Million Naira Only) to anyone with useful information leading to his arrest,” the statement said.
