Customers of Dangote Cement have been cautioned to be very careful of some scammers trying to defraud them of their funds, claiming that the company was running a sales promo.
Some days ago, one of the rivals of Dangote Cement, BUA Cement, announced a slash in the ex-factory price of its product to N3,500.
After this announcement, some Nigerians mounted pressure on Dangote Cement to cut down the price of its product and after waiting for days without any action, some fraudsters took advantage, claiming that Dangote Cement was running a promotion, with the price now N2,700.
At the moment, the price of Dangote Cement at the retail market is about N5,300 per 50kg.
But the management of Dangote Cement has denied the reports that the price of its products has been reduced, describing the reports as false.
In a statement issued by the Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Mr Anthony Chiejina, it was disclosed that the cement firm “has formally notified the law enforcement agents to track down, name, and shame the perpetrators of this devious and deceptive information.”
Mr Chiejina appealed to Dangote Cement’s customers and other stakeholders to continue patronising the high-quality cement brand and be careful of scammers, who are bent on defrauding them of their funds.
