A strategic partnership aimed to redefine the future of sustainable energy installations in Nigeria and the African continent as a whole has been sealed between WATT Renewable Corporation (WATT) and Clear Blue Technologies (CBT).

A statement from the independently-owned provider of hybrid solar solutions disclosed that its collaboration with CBT, a global leader in smart off-grid technology solutions, would make it easy for Africans to access green energy.

According to the disclosure, the partnership has been catalysed by a recent $13 million investment from Empower New Energy, a key player in the renewable energy investment space.

This significant funding will enable WATT, in partnership with Clear Blue Technologies, to accelerate the development and deployment of state-of-the-art off-grid solar and storage solutions, contributing to the global transition towards clean and reliable energy sources, for telecommunications towers across Africa.

“We are thrilled to embark on this strategic partnership with Clear Blue Technologies, fuelled by the support of Empower New Energy.

“This collaboration represents a significant step forward in our shared mission to make clean energy accessible to all and build a greener future by harnessing the power of renewable energy technologies.

“Furthermore, with the foothold and network that Clear Blue has already within the African marketplace, it allows for significant scaling throughout the continent,” the chief executive of WATT, Oluwole Eweje, said.

While commenting, the chief executive of Clear Blue Technologies, Miriam Tuerk, said, “Africa is the land of opportunity with unparalleled growth expected over the next decade.

“WATT, a Canadian/Nigerian company, has demonstrated its ability to execute world-class service and operations, raising the capital and funding needed, and with the values and operational mindset to deliver. We believe this partnership will expand across other high-growth markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.”

WATT specializes in hybrid solar energy solutions and is dedicated to reducing carbon footprint through innovative technologies.

The cornerstone of this partnership is the integration of Clear Blue Technologies’ cutting-edge Esite-Micro, and its innovative smart power management services, which will be employed in WATT’s upcoming batch of installations 100 in Q1 and subsequent installations throughout 2024.
