The last trading session of 2023 on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited will be closed by respected movie star, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD).
The Nollywood icon has been invited by the management of the stock exchange to beat the last closing gong for the year on Friday, December 29, 2023.
Business Post reports that the equity market will close for the day and the year by 12:30 pm instead of the usual 2:30 pm because of the festivities.
It will reopen for business next year, precisely on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
A 45-minute closing gong ceremony will be held this morning from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm, information gathered by the newspaper from the NGX confirmed.
The event will be hosted by the chief executive of the NGX, Mr Temi Popoola, at the stock exchange located on Customs Street, Lagos.
RMD is a 62-year-old Nigerian actor, writer, producer, lawyer, and former journalist, who rose to fame many years ago.
