The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded one of its best performances this year after posting a week-on-week growth of 4.25 per cent in Week 17.
This increased the wealth of NASD investors by NN61 billion as a result of the gains recorded by four securities on the trading platform, leaving the market capitalisation at N1.490 trillion compared with N1.429 trillion in Week 16, as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) expanded by 44.36 points to 1,087.68 points from 1,043.32 points.
Aradel Holdings Plc was the best-performing stock after its value rose by 16.5 per cent to N2,145.69 per share from the previous closing value of N1,841.97 per share, UBN Property Plc appreciated by 14.6 per cent to end at N1.89 per unit versus the previous week’s N1.65 per unit, Afriland Properties Plc grew by 10.4 per cent to N11.15 per unit from N10.10 per unit, and NASD Plc increased by 9.6 per cent to close at N14.25 per share versus N13.00 per share.
On the flip side, Geo-Fluids Plc lost 10 per cent to trade at N2.24 per unit compared with the previous week’s N2.49 per unit, Acorn Petroleum Plc went down by 9.6 per cent to end at N1.04 per share versus the previous week’s N1.15 per share, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc depreciated by 5.8 per cent to quote at N61.23 per unit versus N65.00 per unit.
Trading data for the week showed that the total volume of transactions rose by 10.1 per cent to 3.6 million units from 3.3 million units, the total value of trades during the five-day trading week jumped by 72.8 per cent to N417.8 million from N331.4 million, while the number of deals decreased by 9.5 per cent to 86 deals from 95 deals.
Geo-Fluids Plc was the most traded equity by volume with 2.9 million units, Aradel Holdings Plc traded 0.185 million units, Afriland Properties Plc exchanged 0.173 million units, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc transacted 0.172 million units, and Acorn Petroleum Plc traded 0.1 million units.
Aradel Holdings Plc was the most active stock by value with N369.9 million, trailed by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with N10.8 million, Geo-Fluids Plc posted N6.5 million, Afriland Properties Plc recorded N1.9 million, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc posted N0.6 million.
