Our correspondent learnt that during the attack, several people were wounded including a police officer, who was at the premises of the financial institution.
It was also learnt that when the robbers arrived the bank this afternoon, they shot sporadically into the air to scare customers away after over-powering the security operatives on duty.
However, luck ran out on one of the robbers as a policeman gunned him down and killed him at the bank’s premises.
Meanwhile, spokesman of the police in the state, Mr Andrew Enwerem, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the attack would be investigated. He however called for calm.
