The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 3.28 per cent appreciation on Monday, May 13 as the duo of FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc and Aradel Holdings ensured that the bourse extended its positive run.
FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc rose by N5.02 to end the session at N55.23 per unit compared with last Friday’s N50.21 per unit and Aradel Holdings Plc appreciated by N197.95 per cent to close at N2,930.31 per share versus N2,732.36 per share.
At the close of business, the value of the alternative stock market increased by N52.81 billion to N1.660 trillion from N1.608 trillion, and NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) rose by 38.56 points to wrap the session at 1,212.69 points compared with 1,174.13 points recorded at the previous session.
During the session, the volume of shares traded went down by 97.4 per cent to 1.3 million units from 50.1 million units, the value of securities traded at the session by investors also shrank by 71.9 per cent to N338.6 million from N1.2 billion, while the number of deals carried out increased by 42.9 per cent to 60 deals from 42 deals.
Aradel Holdings Plc, with a turnover of 4.6 million units valued at N9.4 billion, remained the most active equity by value on a year-to-date basis, followed by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc with 99.0 million units sold for N2.4 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc with the sale of 228.6 million worth N1.1 billion.
Capital Hotels Plc closed the day as the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 228.6 million units worth N1.1 billion, trailed by CSCS Plc with the sale of 99.0 million unit valued at N2.4 billion, and IPWA Plc with the sale of 79.9 million units for N40.0 million.
