The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 0.46 per cent loss on Tuesday, April 16 triggered by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc and UBN Property Plc.

FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc lost N5.14 to sell at N50.09 per share versus N55.23 per share and UBN Property recorded a 17 Kobo loss to close at N1.72 per unit compared with Monday’s closing price of N1.89 per unit.

However, Aradel Holdings Plc closed higher yesterday by N15.72 to end the trading day at N2,946.03 per share, in contrast to the previous trading day’s N2,930.31 per share.

The value of the bourse went down by N7.58 billion during the market day to N1.653 trillion from the N1.660 trillion it closed in the preceding session, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) declined by 5.53 points to wrap the session at 1,207.16 points compared with 1,212.69 points recorded at the previous session.

There was a slide in the volume of securities traded in the week’s second session by 69.5 per cent to 392,453 units from the 1.3 million units posted a day earlier.

However, there was a jump in the value of shares traded yesterday by 15.7 per cent to N391.4 million from the N338.6 million recorded in the previous day, while the number of deals decreased by 28.3 per cent to 43 deals from the 60 deals carried out in the previous trading session.

Capital Hotels Plc finished the session as the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 228.6 million units valued at N1.1 billion, followed by Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc with the sale of 99.0 million units worth N2.4 billion, and IPWA Plc with the sale of 79.9 million units for N40.0 million.

Aradel Holdings Plc closed the day as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 4.7 million units valued at N9.8 billion, trailed by CSCS Plc with 99.0 million units sold for N2.4 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc with 228.6 million units worth N1.1 billion.
