The financial technology (fintech) arm of Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) Plc, HabariPay, has introduced a hybrid internship programme.
The scheme was designed to empower businesses and young innovators across Africa through the provision of support to beneficiaries.
A statement from the company disclosed that under this initiative tagged Squad Hackademy Programme, participants would work on real-life scenarios during the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and university holidays.
It was stated that six of the best-performing students from the Take on Squad Hackathon 1.0 held between January 19 and 20, 2024, at GTCO Training Complex at the Tayo’s Plaza in Abeokuta, Ogun State, would have their tuition paid until they graduate as they get hands-on learning experience working in one of Nigeria’s leading Fintech companies.
“We are delighted to be delivering on the next phase of our Hackathon programme.
“The Squad Hackademy is the first of many initiatives to offer young, enterprising students a platform to engage meaningfully with technology and showcase their creativity and problem-solving abilities while helping them with their tuition fees along the way,” the Managing Director of HabariPay, Eduofon Japhet, stated.
